The Biggest Thing To Tell Your Daughter About Becoming A Mom

During my first pregnancy, I was astonished at home how much information had been withheld from me. There's so much that people just don't tell you about pregnancy, child birth, and being a new mom.  Everybody who's ever had a child tells you about the cravings, the epidural, and sleeping when the baby sleeps.

As a new mom, you quickly learn what advice to take and what to ignore. I learned all about trusting my instincts and believing in my own ability to be a good mom. I learned a lot has changed since my mom had babies, so her advice wasn't always up-to-date (ie. safe to follow).

I still remember thinking Why didn't anyone tell me….? about things like the very real fear that grips your heart the first time your child has a fever or the way my interests would suddenly and inexplicably change from reading historical fiction and checking out local wine bars to reading mommy blogs and developing an addiction to organic smoothies from the health food store.

I promise, when my daughter is older, I'm going to clue her in. I'm not quite sure how I'll put it all into words, but I want to be sure that someone lets her know just what she's in for when she becomes a first time mom. There's so much I want her to know about motherhood, so much that I didn't learn until I was cradling my first baby.

Find out just what I'm going to tell her on the next page.
