The moms over at Keeping Life Sane know the struggle is real. They understand that your husband just called to say he's coming home early and the house looks like a small war zone.

What can you do to make it look like you really did clean the place without actually cleaning?

Check out these tips! I tried some today and they really work! It's genius!

Make the bed.   When your bed is made your room looks clean.  You don’t even have to do anything else.  It will already look better.

Clean out the kitchen sink.  It is so easy to let the dishes pile up when you are busy.   I just throw everything in the dishwasher and wash the pots and pans.  Once it’s empty, rinse out the bottom and run the disposal.

Bonus– If I have time I run the vacuum in the middle of the floor.  Seeing the lines from the vacuum cleaner make you think clean!

A Tarzan movie managed to keep my toddler occupied long enough for me to run the vacuum over the main rug, make our beds, and clean the kitchen sink (mostly involving loading the dishwasher). Voila! My husband came home to a “clean” house.

Keeping Life Sane also recommends replacing the kitchen tablecloth, but since we don't use one… I just went over it with a Clorox wipe. Good as new!
