Good Cop / Bad Cop Parenting

When it comes to parenting, we’re a team. At least, we are supposed to be. Sometimes I don’t feel like part of a team when my husband makes me that “bad cop.” Does that happen to you?  He usually says something like “Sure, we’re a team. You’re the bad cop and I’m the good cop. We work together.” We are working together, but it doesn’t feel like we are on the same team sometimes.

Do you ever feel like you’re always the “bad cop” when you really just want to be the fun parent for once?  It can make me feel pretty guilty sometimes.  I’m not sure if I feel guilty because my husband puts me in that position or because I have a hard time letting my hair down and just rolling with it.
