My sister wasn’t much for holiday traditions, or any traditions for that matter.  She has always danced to the beat of her own drum.  She didn’t even spend the last few Christmases at home with our family, much less worry about whether or not we adhered to all the little traditions from our childhood. This year, she’s like the Christmas tradition police! What changed? She had my niece.  Since this is Belly Bot’s first Christmas with us, my intentionally unconventional sister is determined to ensure her daughter has the same sort of Christmas she remembers.

While I’m not enjoying having our Christmas regulated by the tradition police, I can totally relate. There’s something about having a child in the house that brings back some of the magic about Christmas. The holidays are great whether you’re young or old, but children bring a magic and wonder to the season that we didn’t even know we were missing.  There are three big ways that kids make Christmas better.
