1. Camisoles – I have one in just about every color that you could possibly imagine. Pink, blue, brown, gray, black, and white. These are one of my absolute favorites and I wear them underneath just about everything.

2. Tank tops – I love basic tank tops that can be dressed up or down. I have a couple comfortable knit tank tops that I absolutely adore in purple, green, and aqua. And yes, for once in my life, I actually bought something that was a little out of my comfort zone. Every woman should have at least some color in her wardrobe.

3. Denim jacket – Yep, I still have one. I’ve had it for years now and I still wear it all the time. I’m all for a tank top, yoga pants, and a denim jacket.

4. Yoga pants – I’m almost always rocking the yoga pants in either charcoal or black. Another basic item that can be dressed up or down, depending upon what you wear with it. Luckily, I work in a male-dominated industry and most of the time they can’t tell the difference anyhow.

5. Cardigans – These are my friend. I’m almost always cold regardless of the temperature, so I practically live in cardigans. My favorites are definitely loose-knit crochet ones. I love the “see-through” look with a camisole or tank top underneath.

6. High-heeled black sandals – In the very rare event that I actually do have to dress up, these are my go-to shoes. Although, I can’t even tell you the last time that I actually wore them. Like I said, in the very rare event, which is more like next-to-never.

7. Maxi skirts – I discovered these when I was pregnant. I couldn’t get over how comfortable they were. I have two – one that’s black and one that’s a black and white pattern.

8. Ballet flats – These have come and gone over the years, but I always like to have at least one pair of flats that I can wear with just about anything. I hate heels and sometimes flip-flops just won’t cut it.

There isn’t a doubt in my mind that I like to keep my wardrobe as simple as possible. Tried and true. That’s what I stick with. What about you? Are you a creature of habit? Do you keep your wardrobe simple? Are there a few wardrobe basics that you can’t survive without? Leave a comment and share what’s on your list.
