Does your kid hate riding in the car? My son has always hated riding in the car. He's getting better as he gets older and we're getting better at distracting him on road trips.

When you're traveling with kids it takes a lot of extra planning and novel distraction to keep them from going berserk and driving you crazy too.

There are lots of tested, time honored ways to arrive at your destination in one piece. For instance, we all know that car games, sing-along songs, and “the quiet game” will buy you some time.

When all else fails, stop and take a break. Sometimes there's no solution other than to get out of the car, stretch your legs, and get some fresh air. It's a welcome relief for the parents just as much as for the kids.
