Reasons to Think About Christmas Early

1.  Off-Season means On Sale!

Buying things off season makes lots of sense. My mom used to always give us lots of clothes we could wear for the summer at Christmas time. Why? Because it was cheaper to buy them then.  Instead of giving my kids and spouse shorts and swimsuits in December, I just buy up some great winter items when they get clearanced at the start of spring. See Mama, the student has surpassed the teacher.

2. Planning makes perfect.

Mama always said practice makes perfect, but I like to say that planning is what makes it perfect.  Taking the time to plan your holiday meal, festivities, and calendar before December will save you a lot of headache and make for a better time for everyone.  When you don't plan, you are stressed out trying to remember everything you saw on Pinterest that you just must do this Christmas. You're bound to forget something and get stressed out about that too. Besides, squeezing things in at the last minute just makes everyone miserable. Save yourself and your family some headache and start thinking about it early this year.

3. You'll have time to shop around.

We all want to get the best deal. All the holiday commercials and look books promise to give us the absolute best price, but a lot of times we end up paying more than we should for things we “gotta have” during the season of giving.  If you take the time to make that gift idea list ahead of time, you'll have time to shop around and make sure you really do get the best price.  You won't get stuck paying a marked up holiday price in November or December.  You might even be able to get one of those awesome “off season” prices on some items.

Have I convinced you yet? How many of you were already believers? Admit it! I'm not crazy. You're making that Christmas list right now aren't you? Go ahead and start a new Pinterest board.
