I remember kindergarten when I was a kid. The blocks were huge. They reminded me of bricks, but they were made of cardboard. We used to sit on the floor and build with them. And the letter people. Do you remember them? Making macaroni necklaces and sitting in a circle for story time.

These days, kids are being pushed into academics earlier and earlier. I'm not sure that's a good thing. Why can't kids just be kids? Why the huge push to give them a so-called edge and an advantage? Does it really make that big of a difference?
