Is Daycare Too Expensive?

Sadly, it is. Daycare is at least twice as expensive each month as what our mortgage is. On the flip side, the people who are caring for my son every day deserve to get paid too. It's a catch-22. I mean, think about it.

Sure, sometimes I wish it were less expensive, but I'm honestly not sure how a different system could be feasible. I'm not sure how to lessen the burden of daycare costs on a family without lowering these wonderful women's pay. These are the people who, at least for 8 hours of every day, feed him and change him and rock him. They don't make enough as it is for everything they do.

Scary Mommy published an article about daycare costing more than rent and that being the reason so many women don't return to work. With only the little guy, we can swing it. Although, I've done the math and if we ever have another one, I would probably be staying at home.
