I think all of us could share some tales from our tooth losing years. Our kids will, no doubt, have some whoppers about us!

Here's a list of some parents' experiences with their little ones missing teeth and the little sprite who makes it all so much fun.

1.The Quick Switch

“My son lost a tooth recently. We wrapped it in tissue [and he] put [it] under his pillow … and we forgot to take it. He got up the next morning and was upset. We told him that because he got up so early, she may not have been [there] yet. Then [we] sent him to the bathroom to wash his hands and face … during which time Daddy legged it to the bedroom to make the switch.” — Joanne E.

2. Tooth Inflation

“The Tooth Fairy forgot to get to my daughter’s teeth for a while once, and our Tooth Fairy got a nasty letter. Needless to say, the ungrateful child received $20 for said teeth.” — Stephenie M.

3. Delivering in Bulk

“My youngest sister, Kacey, used the Tooth Fairy as a way to build up her bank account. When she realized she could put a tooth under her pillow and wake up with money the next morning, she was ready to capitalize. I remember she pulled out THREE TEETH in one day expecting to receive an extra large sum of money. I’m sure the Tooth Fairy didn’t disappoint!” — Heather N.

4. Some Can’t Be Fooled“When my daughter was about 10, I wasn’t sure if she still believed [in the Tooth Fairy]. One night, I went to do the switch when she lost a tooth, [and] she left a note under her pillow that said, ‘I’m not stupid — I know it’s you.’” — Kendra G.

5. Three Fairies in One Night

“My 8-year-old lost a tooth the second night I was home with my new baby. She left the tooth with a note that night, but my husband and I were so tired we forgot. She was upset the next day, so I took what money I had and shoved it under her pillow with a note from the Tooth Fairy. I left $8.

The next morning she woke up very upset. The Tooth Fairy left her too much money she said. Pretending to be curious [of] what ‘too much was,’ I asked.

She said $23.

Apparently my husband felt bad also and left $10. My mom was visiting and felt bad also and left another $5.

My daughter put $18 aside and wrote a note to the Tooth Fairy saying she felt bad for taking too much money and was leaving her the change.” — Robyn K.

6. It’s All About Presentation

“Our oldest lost his first tooth a few months ago, and the smallest we had in the house was a $5 bill, so I left that under his pillow. When he woke up, he started crying because he thought she just left him a piece of paper. [With his] second tooth, we left a baggie of change and he was so excited.” — Afton S.

7. Recycling at Its Finest

“My daughter was a little ditzy; she always got a Sacajawea Golden Dollar from the Tooth Fairy, [but] what she didn’t know was I would get it out of her piggy bank and reuse the same one every time. She never checked and was always excited to get the gold money!” — Robyn H.

8. A Very Detailed Description“My daughter swallowed her tooth and was upset because she couldn’t give it to the Tooth Fairy. We explained to her that it will ‘pass’ and to leave a note letting the Tooth Fairy know. So … she wrote and illustrated a note to the Tooth Fairy about how to find the tooth … in her poop.” — Daisy M.
