The Give And Take Of Being A Mom

Being a mom is all-consuming, isn't it? I remember those first few days after we came home from the hospital. I remember being confused and clueless. I wondered whether or not I'd ever get to sleep again and whether or not my son would ever let me put him down.

What a ride the first year's been – an amazing, wonderful ride. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Everything I've given of myself as his mom, he's given back to me and then some. At this point, I can't imagine our lives any other way. His precious smiles and adorable high fives totally make not sleeping worth it.
