How To Know Your Kid Is Truly Artistically Inclined

This is hilarious and I'm willing to bet that you've experienced at least a few of these yourself.

1. They take artistic license.

Highly creative kids often like to express themselves through some form of art, such as drawing. No easel required. Any surface is up for grabs, including your walls, great-grandma's antique tea towels, or random body parts. On random people. Everything they encounter is a blank canvas just begging to be transformed. Says the mom who just got done scrubbing the scratch n' sniff marker mustache off of her son's face because its proximity to the nose “made for more efficient smelling.” You probably have a cabinet overflowing with markers, charcoal, paints and the like, all in an effort to satisfy your budding Picasso's relentless thirst to create things.

2. They are musically inclined.

When not busy decorating your house in Sharpie, your child is likely busy creating something equally masterful. Like a song. My 2-year-old Madonna wannabe “penned” her first original tune before she could actually write, with this catchy line: “She broke his leg at 10 o'clock and I don't know why she did it … ” For the record, I don't know why she did it either. I'm guessing her name is Chloe and she *might* have some anger management issues. Either that or she's just going through a dark phase and it's all part of her “process.” It may not always be music to your ears, but highly creative kids march to their own beat. Preferably in elaborate costumes.

You can see the rest of the list on Scary Mommy. When you're finished, don't forget to leave us a comment and let us know whether or not you have a highly creative child.
