4 Things My Toddler Thinks Are Toys…But They’re Not
We all know the old adage about the kid who plays with the box more than the toy that came in the box. It's the reason I no longer feel guilty about not spending hundreds of dollars on big fancy toy gadgets for my toddler. Inevitably, he will have more fun crawling in and out of the box. That's why my in-laws have been keeping a box that their new window AC unit came in. Whenever we're visiting, my kid is busy climbing in and out of it.
As far as I know, there's not much trouble he can get into with a box. It may not be an actual toy, but he's enjoying himself and can't really get hurt with it.
Well, except for that time he tried to use a box as a sled to go down the stairs. To be fair to my kid, my husband helped with that hair-brained scheme. I still don't know what they were thinking. Barring moments like that one, there's not much danger in letting him play with a box.
What about all the things he wants to play with that aren't safe? Let's face it, toddlers think all things are toys and your stuff is just the coolest. That's why my iPhone works magic in crowded restaurants.
You can pretty much guarantee your toddler will turn anything into a toy. Find out what other seemingly mundane household items he's convinced are toys on the next page.
