4 Reasons That I Should Stay Away From Pinterest

  1. My credit card would thank me. I can’t count the number of times I’ve mentioned to my husband that I needed to stop at the craft store to grab a few things for my latest creative project. For some reason, my good intentions always end up costing somewhere around $100. It’s definitely not intentional. I can’t help it that craft supplies are expensive. I also can’t help it that you run in for one or two things and walk out with ten. How exactly does that happen?
  2. I know from experience that I have an incredibly short attention span and, more often than not, these are the projects that get put off indefinitely and most of the time never end up finished. Unfortunately, sometimes life gets in the way. There are not enough hours in the day to make all of my DIY dreams come true. I’m honestly convinced that there will never be a time when I’ve managed to cross off everything that’s on my creative to do list. It just isn’t happening – no way, no how. That list is definitely too long.
  3. Pinterest gives me even more of an excuse to ruminate over the little things. All I have to do is search for whatever it is that I’m interested in doing and I can see hundreds, if not thousands, of variations. The possibilities are, no doubt, endless and I love to explore each and every one in detail. I can’t help it. I like to be well-educated on whatever it is that I’m trying to do before I make an attempt to actually do it.
  4. If it weren’t for Pinterest, I might not be quite as desperate to stay at home. I mean, come on – what could possibly be more fun than being home with the little guy all day and working through all of these fun projects that I’ve been pinning for the last few months? I can tell you one thing that doesn’t even come close to making that list. Work. I’m constantly pinning things that, someday, we’ll get around to making or doing. For right now, suffice it to say that all of these things would get done a lot quicker if I didn’t have to work.

Do you spend too much time pinning things to your never-ending creative to do list? Do you have a few of your own reasons why you should stay away from Pinterest? Leave a comment and share your take on it.
