3 Words Not To Teach Your Kids To Say
There's really no need for any of these words to be used as a child. Let's give them better words to describe things than these.
1. Ugly. This is a word I’ve heard many people innocently use to describe something, and there are times when a person may use it to describe someone. But whether you say, “Hey that’s an ugly sweater” or “I think that girl is ugly,” both are unacceptable in my book.
2. Fat. If you grew up in the 90s, then you know about the commonly used slang term, ‘phat.’ Saying someone looked “phat” actually meant that the person looked great. But, these days saying someone is fat is insulting.
3. Stupid. I once heard a child say that she didn’t want to play with another child because he was stupid. My heart sank into the pit of my stomach. It just comes across rude and condescending.
