Today I dyed Easter eggs with my toddler. It’s great, messy fun! Perhaps because he’s a boy, or just because he’s two, he’s convinced that the eggs are miniature baseballs and need to be thrown into the bowls of dye. This method has a tendency to dye more of our bodies and clothing than the actual eggs. Many hard boiled eggs are destroyed in the process.

This was our second year dying eggs and I’ve learned some nifty tricks for minimizing the mess while still having lots of fun. Let’s face it, when it’s less messy, I can relax and be the fun mommy instead of worrying about how long I can let the dye splatter stay on the walls before it’s permanent.
