1. Colored Cardstock or Construction Paper – You can do just about anything with paper. I especially love the texture of the rainbow packs of cardstock that I’ve found in the scrapbooking section of our local craft store.

2. Scissors – Safety scissors, of course, at first. There are also so many different types of decorative scissors these days. I definitely have one nice pair of scissors that I couldn’t live without.

3. Adhesive – There are so many options for adhesive. Elmer’s glue, Scotch tape, and glue dots are just a few of the many choices available these days.

4. Fabric Scraps – Fabric scraps are great to have on hand for so many things. They’re especially fun for making pillows and aprons and other fun things for little ones.

5. Crayons – It might be hard to believe, but I still have entire boxes of crayons from when I was younger. I’ve kept them all these years. Just in case.

6. Markers – Chucky markers are awesome for little hands.

7. Watercolors – For younger kids, I’d choose something along the lines of Crayola, but I also have some really awesome watercolor crayons and pencils.

8. Paint Brushes – I grabbed a few packs of paintbrushes in several different sizes when I was putting together supplies for myself. I’m sure kids would love these as well.

9. Finger Paints – It looks like Crayola makes finger paints as well. This isn’t something we own quite yet because the little guy is still too young for these, but I assure you they’re on my list.

10. Colored Pencils – I used to literally spend hours coloring with colored pencils. If I had the time, I probably still would.

11. Popsicle sticks– I keep Popsicle sticks on hand for all kinds of things. They’re versatile and little ones love to build things with them.

12. Ribbon – Ribbon is fun too, especially for braiding and beading.

13. Beads – Preferably larger beads, so they’re easier to string together.

14. Buttons – Buttons make great eyes for our handmade friends.

15. Craft Foam – I love craft foam and I especially love being able to cut out whatever shapes we need for whatever we’re making. It’s thicker than felt.

16. Felt – Felt is soft and is great for making critters.

17. Tissue Paper – Tissue paper has all kinds of fun uses. I love it. I love to crinkle it up and glue it down.

18. Yarn – Yarn can be used to make bracelets or to “stitch” on paper.

19. Lanyard – Do you remember this from when you were a kid? We used to make jewelry and keychains with it. To be a kid again, right?

20. Stickers – Last but not least is every kid’s favorite – stickers.

Do you have any favorite craft supplies that you keep on hand at home? Leave a comment and add to my list.
