What’s wrong with “Fine?”

Whenever I’m agonizing over the consequences of a parenting decision, my sweet husband says “Don’t worry. I’m sure he [our son] will be fine.” I hate that. My well-meaning husband isn’t the only one that says it. I hear it a lot from family members who may or may not have their own children and friends who I’m sure are also well-meaning. Want to know why I don't like that word?
