Parents Do Weird Things On Date Night

Date night is a must.  It's important to be able to sit down together and have a meal that doesn't involve telling your toddler to get his feet off the table, cutting someone else's meat, or negotiating about how many bites of green beans will lead to dessert being served.

But try as we might, we can't seem to keep the rule about not discussing our children on date night. They sneak into the corners of our mind and, before we really know it, the conversation.  We end the night discussing whether or not we should bring home dessert for them, what day would be good to schedule a haircut for our son, and how our daughter might be teething.
