There's something about becoming a mama that changes your priorities. So many women forget about themselves. I know, I know. How can you not? You get handed this itty-bitty human who's dependent on you for everything… Every feeding, every diaper change, literally everything.

I remember those first few weeks after having my son. I spent an asinine amount of time on the couch feeding my precious new baby. I'd get up every now and again to eat or to go to the bathroom, but for the most part, those early days were all about him.

Fast forward almost two years and that itty-bitty human has morphed into a toddler and things are crazy around here. Every day, he's exerting his independence more and more. He no longer wants my help with everything. And while there's a part of me who definitely misses the baby days, the dynamics are slowly changing and occasionally it's a relief.

Scary Mommy published an article about one mom who quit – she quit putting everyone else ahead of herself in hopes of becoming a better wife and mom. I totally get it. Check it out on the next page.
